Falls of the Ohio

BRICK visited The Falls of the Ohio State Park which is a historical site, known for extensive fossil beds. What was once home to a series of rapids and waterfalls before the construction of the locks and dams, the falls played a crucial role in early navigation and settlement along the Ohio River. Now, visitors can learn about the history of the falls and the fossils which are estimated to be about 390 million years old by visiting the museum. The museum was accessible for our groups mobility needs along with offering an accessible bathroom and a paved path to overlook the falls; however, the falls accessing the fossil beds could prove to be challenging for anyone with mobility limitations because the ground is uneven and in some areas steep to go down to explore the fossils. BRICK enjoyed the museum and viewing the falls from the pathed lookout.

-Bathrooms have accessible stalls

-Not a lot of seating outside if you need to take a break and outdoor seating is mostly on uneven surfaces
